Activists call for Peevey to resign.

Many of California’s environmental activists are starting a campaign calling on Michael Peevey, President of the CPUC, to resign. Please join us.

So, I am writing to ask as many of you who will join us in this action as can, to come to the next CPUC Meeting in San Francisco on August 23 to stand in solidarity w/us in our request for Mr.Peevey’s resignation. Steve Zeltzer is putting together a press conference at 10:30 a.m. to make our statements public.

Even if you cannot come to the press conference and CPUC meeting that day, we hope you will inform your group’s members to join us in calling for Mr. Peevey’s resignation by writing letters to the CPUC and Governor Brown.

Mr. Peevey should resign immediately, the appearance of impropriety with his past connections to SCE precludes his ability to take a honest view at the problems SONGS presents today. After all he worked for SCE in 1991 when the CPUC closed unit 1. Now some years later he is the head of the CPUC when now it is up to them to look at the same issues and he keeps putting it off for what reasons?

Also look at his record on rate increases, seems that it is rare to find a rate increase he did not like.

Thank you

    CPUC should be dissolved.

A new organization with complete independency and no ties to Nuclear industry should replace it with all the executives to be nominated from the Science and Technology for term no longer than 4 years.

The President well not have any special voting rights.

The proposed board to have minimum 5 and ideally 7 voting members.

Their salary and operating budget to be paid from utility rates.

    Thank you,
