Dear Mr. Chairman,
Our coalition of environmental groups did receive the date of June 18, 2012 for NRC meeting to be held in San Juan Capistrano. The NRC is to share their report and findings on the present problems at SONGS. We thank you for this opportunity to discuss such important matters with the community.
Our coalition would like to get a copy of this report in advance of the June 18 meeting for review so that we may be well informed and be prepared to fully understand the implications of this report. We sincerely hope this will happen.
I would remind you that at the April 6 meeting 2012 we had with you in Dana Point Ca. I brought to you a serious concern of all of our local citizens about the last meeting in San Juan Capistrano on April 18, 2011 where the NRC did abruptly and prematurely closed down the meeting at 8:30 p.m. and did not allow over half of the people who had signed up in advance to speak. Too many were not heard and could not express their concerns to the NRC. Mr. Chairman this cannot be allowed to happen at this very important meeting to our community again. I hope that you will take the steps necessary to instruct those who will be in charge of the June 18 meeting to make sure this will not happen again, and allow our citizens to speak and be heard as is our 1st amendment right to do, and I might add is the duty of any and all government agencies to listen with respect.
Sincerely written for our coalition & concerned community,
